Description

Worldwide almost 4 billion trees are cut down each year for paper. However, paper can be made without a negative impact on the environment. In Sri Lanka, elephant dung is collected by local people who skilfully (through a process of sterilisation, pulping, dyeing, sieving and pressing) create a beautiful, sustainable, odour-free paper that is used to make Elecosy's large range of delightful and unique handcrafted stationery products.

This striking large spiral notebook from Elecosy is perfect for daily notes, to-do lists, journaling, sketching, doodling, or taking notes on the go. The notebook's heavy cover, thick paper, and black spiral binding make the notebook highly durable. But durable does not mean heavy. Thanks to the fact that this notebook is constructed from sustainably made, the Fair Trade paper is also lightweight, making it perfect to take on the go in your backpack or handbag.

Elecosy source their materials from Maximus; a Fair-Trade company whose aim is to make a difference by turning elephant dung into beautiful products, thereby improving Sri Lankans' lives by providing them with gainful employment, aiding elephant conservation, and helping to protect the environment.

Consequently, by buying an all-natural Elecosy product you can make a difference by helping to:

  • Protect the magnificent, but endangered Sri Lankan elephants.
  • Develop a sustainable economy for the local community.
  • Create a mutually beneficial relationship between man, elephant, and their shared environment.

NB. As all Elecosy products are handmade using natural fibres and dyes and as consequence, pages are not a block colour and page colours may vary.
